Scooter Braun Steps Down as CEO of HYBE America
He will remain on the Board in an executive advisory role
Scooter Braun has stepped aside from his position as CEO of HYBE America, transitioning into an executive advisory role. He will serve as a director on HYBE’s Board of Directors and Senior Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of HYBE.
Braun’s replacement:
As per the official announcement, Braun will hand over his day-to-day duties to Isaac Lee, while continuing to support HYBE’s business strategy and key decision-making from a Board-level perspective.
Lee has been leading HYBE Latin America as Chairman since November 2023.
He will become Chairman and CEO of HYBE Americas.
Lee will have oversight of BMLG (Big Machine Label Group) in Nashville and QC Media Holdings in Atlanta, while remaining Chairman of HYBE’s Latin American operations in Mexico, Miami and Medellin.
The next step:
The press release states Braun will now “pursue other areas of strategic focus while remaining closely involved with HYBE’s long-term vision as one of the company’s largest individual shareholders.”
Accomplishments:
As HYBE America CEO, Braun “provided key guidance for significant US acquisitions, seamlessly integrated top-tier talent and executives into the HYBE ecosystem, and established the foundation for the company’s multi-label structure and IP-driven strategy within the Western market.”
He led the acquisition of QC Media Holdings and incorporated SB Projects and Big Machine Label Group into the existing roster of talent.
Path to this point:
Braun initially carved his reputation as a powerhouse manager with a roster of artists including Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, The Kid LAROI, J Balvin, Demi Lovato and more.
He began his transition from full-time artist management in June 2021 when his company Ithaca Holdings was acquired by South Korean entertainment powerhouse HYBE in a $1.05 billion deal.
What they said:
Scooter Braun: “Being a part of HYBE and witnessing its remarkable growth has been one of the most inspiring chapters of my professional journey. Chairman Bang is a true visionary and a musical genius. What he has built with HYBE is unparalleled. I am incredibly proud of our collective accomplishments and look forward to supporting chairman Bang and CEO Jason Jaesang Lee in their continued success as I step into what’s next.”
