New York-headquartered IP investment firm Round Hill Music has announced two new catalog deals – one with Kiss songwriter Vini Poncia, the other with Modern English for their song “I Melt With You.”
Poncia’s credits:
Round Hill has acquired the publishing rights to the American songwriter, musician and producer’s entire catalog of songs.
This includes credits such as Kiss’s “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and Leo Sayer’s “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing” (which he co-wrote).
Poncia also has credits on several Ringo Starr albums, and has worked with artists such as Martha Reeves, Melissa Manchester, Patty Smyth, The Ronettes and more.
Modern English:
Round Hill has acquired the publishing and master rights to the British post-punkers’ 1982 song “I Melt With You.”
Other acquisitions:
These latest deals come off the back of previous catalog acquisitions involving songwriter Terry Shaddick, Swedish DJ Linus Eklow, Rod Stewart songwriter Carmine Appice, Al Stewart and Dirty Heads.
What they said:
Josh Gruss, Round Hill Music CEO: “In their own ways, Modern English and Vini Poncia have produced timeless music which has had a lasting impact over many decades. Their catalogs resonate with Round Hill’s focus on time-tested music with proven commercial performance and further growth potential.”
He adds: “This acquisition is particularly meaningful for me on a personal level since Modern English was the very first concert I attended when I was nine years old. That experience helped spark a lifelong love of music and to now be entrusted with stewarding their catalog is a full-circle moment.”
