Fresh Ink: Wisin Forms New Chapter with D27 Entertainment, Muscadine Bloodline Team Up with The Trenches & Republic Records

Following a longstanding relationship under Walter Kolm, reggaeton pioneer Wisin has now signed with D27 Entertainment, founded by his manager Chris Duque, who steps out independently. The move comes alongside the September launch of La Universidad del Perreo, his new 12-track album and educational platform.

Coming off a decade-plus as independents, Alabama country duo Muscadine Bloodline have joined forces with The Trenches/Republic Records. Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton bring over 1B streams and Platinum singles "Me On You" and "Porch Swing Angel" to the deal, with new single "Escatawpa Hollow" due September 18.

Kirk Franklin has announced a new partnership with Uptown Records, the deal bringing his Fo Yo Soul Entertainment and TRIBL Music Group into the fold. The 20-time GRAMMY winner marks the occasion with new single "Thank You for Everything," featuring gospel icon Karen Clark Sheard of the Clark Sisters.

Texas rapper BigXthaPlug signed with Kevin Shivers, James Rubin, Tessie Lammle & Max Mirabella of THE·TEAM for booking worldwide. The new addition to the roster released his latest album I Hope You’re Happy last year with features from Ella Langley, Jelly Roll, and Shaboozey. A follow-up is already being teased online.

NYC-based alt-pop artist Thoom has signed with Hallwood Media for both records and management, with Niki Zahedi stepping in. Her debut album Everyday, Everything Is At Stake, executive produced by Dylan Brady of 100 gecs, arrives with early co-signs from Addison Rae, Clairo, and Kim Petras, while she's slated to be direct support for Bassvictim's US Tour kicking off in a few weeks.

LA producer and DJ Juos has locked in a deal with Helix Records, marking the signing with a new release "Tequila Bounce," a collaboration with Canadian house act No Thanks and LA vocal collective NEVVE.
