Rick Parashar Estate Inks Music Rights Deal with MusicBird
The producer was a figurehead of the grunge movement
Switzerland-based music rights investment company MusicBird has struck an acquisition deal with the estate of multi-platinum selling producer Rick Parasher.
The deal:
As per MusicBird, the deal covers Parasher’s producer income from albums by Nickelback (the 10-million selling Silver Side Up), Alice In Chains, Blind Melon and 3 Doors Down (Away From the Sun).
The catalog acquired has over 20 million album sales and four billion collective Spotify streams, including hit songs such as “How You Remind Me” (Nickelback), “No Rain” (Blind Melon), “Here Without You” (3 Doors Down) and “Would?” (Alice In Chains).
The deal expands MusicBird’s portfolio of music rights to more than 2,000 songs from several hundred artists.
About Parasher:
Along with his brother Raj, Rick Parasher founded Seattle’s London Bridge Studios in 1985.
From it he co-produced multi-platinum albums for artists such as Pearl Jam (Ten), Alice In Chains, Temple of the Dog and Blind Melon (their self-titled debut).
He also produced Bon Jovi’s Have a Nice Day and Melissa Etheridge’s Lucky, amongst others.
He passed away in 2014.
