GoDigital Music, the music arm of the media rights management company, has purchased several catalogs from major Latin artists, including the publishing catalog of salsa legend Marc Anthony. The total deal was valued at $115 million and adds 30,000 new assets to the GoDigital portfolio.
The deal:
Regions Bank and Corrum Capital financed the transaction.
Anthony’s catalog made up eight figures of the total sum spent.
Catalogs of non-Latin acts such as Saving Abel and Slum Village were part of the deal as well.
Acquired music was released as far back as the 1980s.
Last month, GoDigital secured $230 million in new capital.
What they said:
GoDigital Founder, Jason Peterson: “Latin music isn’t just growing, it’s the new global soundtrack. These catalog acquisitions reinforce GoDigital Music’s commitment to investing in culturally relevant music IP and building platforms that connect artists with audiences across generations and geographies.”
Alessandro Fiorotto, CFO for Cinq Music, a GoDigital Music company: “It was a very complex deal to structure and close. We’re grateful for the collaboration with all parties involved and delighted to have brought this across the line.”
