Justin Bieber Settles $30m Debt With Scooter Braun
The majority of the amount stems from the singer’s canceled 2022 tour
Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun have reportedly reached a settlement over the $30+ million debt the singer owed his former manager.
The debt:
According to People, Bieber owed Braun $26 million as part of the advance he received from AEG Presents for his 2022 Justice tour.
When the tour was canceled, Braun’s then-company HYBE covered Bieber’s debt to AEG, with the singer agreeing to pay Braun and HYBE back over time.
He is reported to have only made one payment.
People also reports that Bieber will pay an additional $5.5 million to Braun, covering half of the $11 million in unpaid commissions he owes his former manager.
In total he will pay Braun $31.5 million.
Other movements:
This news comes as Bieber released his seventh album, Swag, and launched a new fashion brand, SKYLRK.
Braun stepped down from his role as CEO of HYBE America earlier this month.
