Hook Raises $10M Series A to Scale Fan Creation Tools
The funding will fuel expansion of its social music platform
Hook, the open platform for licensed fan-made remixes, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round led by Khosla Ventures. The round brings Hook’s total funding to $16 million.
The platform:
Hook offers AI-powered tools that enable fans to remix songs and share them to social media with one tap.
Since launching in 2025, it has worked directly with rightsholders to ensure artists retain ownership, control, and monetization.
Via its partnerships with Downtown Music/FUGA, Too Lost, Primary Wave and Avex, Hook says it has access to more than 20 million licensed songs.
Future plans:
The company says the funding will be used to drive user growth.
It will advance its product and technology and launch an Android app, as well as “new community-driven features, richer creation formats, and native video and recording capabilities.”
It will also look to deepen integrations and partnerships across the music industry.
New promotion:
The company has strengthened its leadership team by elevating Simmi Singh to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Product Officer.
The former Spotify exec joined Hook in 2023 as Chief Product Officer, overseeing its launch for consumers, creators and rightsholders.
What they said:
Samir Kaul, Khosla Ventures’ Founding Partner and Managing Director: “Hook is solving a hard problem at the center of modern music: enabling remixing and social distribution in a way that works for rightsholders at scale. The team has built a platform that pairs a consumer-native experience with licensing, attribution, and reporting infrastructure that the ecosystem can rely on. We’re excited to lead this round and support Hook’s next phase of growth.”
