MusicBird Acquires Catalog of R&B Duo Majid Jordan
The artists have written for Beyoncé, Drake, Justin Bieber and more
Switzerland-based boutique music rights company MusicBird has acquired the publishing catalog of Toronto-based R&B duo Majid Jordan.
Backstory:
Forming in 2011, Canadian-Bahraini duo Majid Jordan consists of Majid Al-Maskati and Jordan Ullman.
Outside of their artist project, both Majid and Jordan have co-written and co-produced tracks for artists including Drake, Beyoncé, DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and more.
The deal:
The deal comprises the publishers’ and writers’ shares from the Al-Maskati and Ullman catalogs.
Collectively these recordings and collaborations have generated billions of global streams.
Financial details have not been disclosed.
Growing catalog:
This transaction follows MusicBird’s 2025 deal with the estate of iconic grunge producer Rick Parasher.
The company says its portfolio now contains more than 2,000 songs from several hundred artists.
It includes income streams from publishing, masters, neighboring rights, and producer and mixer royalties from an array of artists and songwriters, including songs recorded by Rihanna, Alice In Chains, Jason Derulo, OneRepublic, Nickelback and more.
What they said:
Paul Brown, CEO of MusicBird: “With proven, long-term success across genres underpinned by dedicated fanbases, Majid Jordan's catalog aligns with MusicBird's strategy as we continue to build a diverse, hit-driven collection of music rights. With Jordan and Majid producing chart hits with some of the world's biggest names and having a huge influence on modern R&B and pop music, their catalog adds further pedigree, commercial success, and diversity to our growing portfolio. Their music also has plenty of potential to find new fans, providing a significant opportunity to grow the value of these songs in the coming years.”
