SeatGeek Announces Spotify Integration
Fans can now access SeatGeek primary tickets through the streaming platform
Spotify has added SeatGeek to its stable of ticketing partners, with the integration giving listeners access to SeatGeek’s primary ticket inventory through its event discovery experience.
The deal:
Through the integration, fans can discover live events tied to the artists they listen to and connect to SeatGeek to purchase official primary tickets from its team and venue partners.
Though SeatGeek also offers secondary market tickets, the integration only applies to its primary ticket inventory.
Event discovery:
In January, Spotify Head of Music Charlie Hellman published a blog, in which he stated that the streaming giant has “helped artists generate more than $1 billion in ticket sales by connecting fans with live shows through our ticketing partners.”
The platform currently has over 40 ticketing partners, including Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, AXS, Bandsintown, Japan’s ZAIKO and, now, SeatGeek.
What they said:
Russ D’Souza, Co-Founder and President of SeatGeek: “SeatGeek is building the best marketplace for live events by making it easier for fans to find the right tickets in the best possible buying experience. This integration with Spotify helps remove friction at the moment of discovery, so fans can go from listening to an artist to choosing great seats in just a few steps. For our partners, it also creates a more direct and informed connection to fans as interest turns into attendance.”
