


Round Hill Music Hits $1 Billion Portfolio With New Acquisitions
Includes hits by Rod Stewart, Olivia Newton John, Icona Pop and more
Music publishing company Round Hill Music has announced a series of new catalog acquisitions.
The details:
Round Hill now owns the publishing catalogs of Terry Shaddick, Linus Eklöw and Carmine Appice.
Shaddick co-wrote Olivia Newton John's 1981 hit Physical.
As per Music Business Worldwide, Round Hill has acquired Shaddick's half of the song, including administrative control of the copyright, as well as his share of Doja Cat's Kiss Me More and Benson Boone's Mystical Magical, both of which feature melodic elements of Physical.
Linus Eklöw's full catalog has been acquired, including Galantis hits Runaway (U & I) and No Money, and Icona Pop's I Love It (featuring Charli XCX).
Vanilla Fudge and Rod Stewart vet Carmine Appice co-wrote Stewart's songs Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? and Young Turks.
Also acquired:
Round Hill has picked up the publishing and artist royalties of Southern California reggae-rock group Dirty Heads, who have eight albums.
As per Digital Music News, Year of the Cat songwriter Al Stewart has sold a selection of master rights.
Deal terms:
Have not been disclosed, but Round Hill claims these acquisitions have pushed the cumulative value of its portfolio past $1 billion.
