David Dann Launches Green Tea Distribution
The company seeks to merge music distribution with career guidance
Green Tea Distribution (GTD), a new distribution and mentorship platform, has officially launched. It’s designed to empower independent artists and bridge the gap between traditional digital distributors and full-service labels.
Founded by David Dann, renowned record producer and founder of the three-time Grammy nominated label Mind of a Genius, alongside Barry Rosenblum and Joni Myllari, the original founders of Green Tea Studios and now partners of Green Tea Distribution, the company builds on their proven track record of developing globally recognized artists.
Why it matters:
Green Tea Distribution is a collaboration between record producer and Mind of a Genius founder David Dann and Barry Rosenblum and Joni Myllari, the original founders of Green Tea Studios.
As per its media release, the company “aims to fill a critical gap in the industry by providing artists not only with the ability to release music, but also with the mentorship, resources, and community they need to build sustainable careers.”
The concept emerged from Dann’s experience developing artists such as ZHU, Gallant, and THEY., and the realization that independent artists need more than just distribution – they need guidance to transform releases into meaningful careers.
Unlike traditional distributors that focus on volume, Green Tea Distribution is built to nurture careers. At its core, GTD operates as a community-driven, development-first ecosystem where artists not only release music but also access mentorship, curated growth tools, and structured industry feedback.
How it works:
Access to GTD is intentionally limited.
It operates on an invite-only, password-protected platform with an application process for artists.
The selective approach is designed to ensure each member receives tailored support, “while maintaining a community built on quality, commitment, and career longevity.”
The platform combines accessible technology with label-level support, offering independent musicians the kinds of opportunities they would traditionally only receive from an independent or major label.
That involves real A&R feedback, sync pitching and personalized support, as well as a private network where artists collaborate and share feedback.
It also offers dashboards, analytics, and AI-assisted insights that enable the team to provide personalized feedback while servicing hundreds of artists.
Since its soft launch, GTD has already delivered early success stories including editorial playlist placements, viral TikTok moments from breakout artist Jalen Chords, and sync opportunities through its curated pitching pipeline. The company has also received support from respected industry figures such as Jamil Davis, Markell Casey, and Kenny Salciado, further validating its mission.
Early take-up:
Since its soft launch, nearly 1,000 artists have joined GTD.
With plans to expand globally, GTD’s vision is to become a hub for more than 20,000 artists over the next five years, ensuring that independent talent at every level has access to real pathways toward professional careers.
What they said:
David Dann: “Distribution without development is just digital delivery. Green Tea exists to give independent artists the same infrastructure and feedback that launched careers at Mind of a Genius – without the gatekeeping or ownership that comes with traditional labels.”
