Chordal Launches InstantClear API for Music Licensing
The technology aims to simplify sync licensing for businesses
After announcing recent deals with Kobalt and TikTok, music rights technology company Chordal has launched its InstantClear™ technology as an API.
The promise:
Chordal claims that InstantClear™ pulls together licenses for fractionally owned songs, making it easier for businesses to license legally cleared commercial music.
By making its API available it promises “instant sync licenses without owning, managing rights, or handling legal overhead.”
Tiers:
The API has three tiers, ranging from a free plan with a revenue share agreement to an Enterprise model that offers stems and instrumentals (if available), AI-powered music metadata and creative tagging, plus more.
Legal issues:
Companies such as DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, Crumbl and Chili’s have all faced (or are facing) litigation by record companies over the illegal use of copyrighted music in their social media.
Chordal seeks to provide a solution that avoids these issues in the future.
