They are regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry worldwide.¹ The trophy depicts a gilded gramophone. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It is the music industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards (Oscars) for films.²
