BMG has acquired Andrew Stockdale’s publishing, recorded music royalties and neighboring rights interests in the catalog of Australian rock band Wolfmother. The singer, guitarist and chief songwriter co-founded the group in Sydney in 2004.
Why it matters:
Wolfmother are one of Australia’s most successful international acts, amassing hundreds of millions of streams and collecting a GRAMMY Award for Hard Rock Performance for the song “Woman” in 2007.
Their music has featured in film, television, advertising and video game campaigns, including The Hangover, Jackass Number Two, Ted Lasso, Guitar Hero, and more.
The deal:
The agreement expands on BMG’s long-standing partnership with Stockdale, having served as his global publisher since 2016.
