Lola Young, sombr, Invited to The Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class

The Academy issued over 4,000 invites to music creators and professionals

More than 4,000 music creators and industry professionals have been invited by The Recording Academy to become Grammy members.

New recruits:

  • Among the new members are Cash Cobain, EJAE, Lola Young, Raveena Aurora, Sleeping With Sirens, and sombr.

  • EJAE co-wrote several songs on the KPOP Demon Hunters soundtrack, including “Golden.”

  • Lola Young and sombr were both nominated for Best New Artist at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in February.

  • In addition to having access to mentorship, professional development and networking opportunities, those who accept the invitation are also eligible to vote for the Grammy Awards.

Membership overhaul:

  • As per Music Business Worldwide, The Recording Academy overhauled its membership recruitment process in 2019, introducing a community-driven, peer reviewed model aimed at increasing diversity.
