Warner Music Group and Paramount Make Deal to Produce Biopics on WMG Artists

The films will be produced in partnership with the artists or their estates

Warner Music Group (WMG) has entered into a multi-year agreement with Paramount to produce feature films based on WMG artists and songwriters. Unigram, WMG’s production partner, will collaborate with Paramount to develop the films.

Background:

  • WMG recently made a similar deal with Netflix that focuses on documentaries.

  • Unigram leads production efforts in that deal as well.

  • Unigram was co-founded in partnership with Len Blavatnik‘s Access Industries, the majority owner of WMG.
