SourceAudio and Native Instruments Partner on AI Dataset Licensing Partnership
The fully cleared audio dataset will advance next-gen creative tools for musicians
SourceAudio, a sync and music-rights platform for large-scale AI dataset licensing, has entered a long-term partnership with Native Instruments, which specializes in music production software and hardware.
The deal:
SourceAudio will provide Native Instruments with access to a fully cleared audio dataset to support behind-the-scenes improvements across Native Instruments’ product portfolio.
As per SourceAudio’s press release, this will help Native Instruments explore new approaches to sound discovery, workflow navigation, and creative assistance.
The main players:
For nearly 30 years, Native Instruments has created industry-defining instruments, effects and plugins used across all major Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs).
SourceAudio was launched in May 2025 and aggregates more than 14 million opted-in songs from its network of over 3,000 music catalogs to deliver high-quality datasets tailored to real-world commercial use.
What they said:
Drew Silverstein, President, Head of AI Strategy at SourceAudio: “Native Instruments is one of the most impactful and respected music technology companies in our industry. The belief that technology should empower human creators and not replace them is one we're deeply aligned on, and through this partnership, we'll be supporting Native Instruments' long-term innovation efforts, and helping them deliver industry-leading tools and technologies to musicians who rely on them every day.”
Andy Sarroff, Head of Applied AI at Native Instruments: “Native Instruments has a long history of applying advanced technology in service of musicians and their creative process. Access to SourceAudio's fully cleared dataset allows us to responsibly accelerate our research and refine the technologies behind our instruments and effects. The goal is simple: remove obstacles to the creative flow, preserve artistic control, and give musicians better tools to shape their own sound."
