Veteran A&R executive Rob Stevenson and seasoned label operations leader Matt Signore have announced the launch of a new record label, ALTER MUSIC.
Why it matters:
Signore and Stevenson are former 300 Entertainment veterans; Stevenson has also worked at Republic, Island and Virgin.
Stevenson has had a hand in the careers of Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Katy Perry, The Beastie Boys, Post Malone and more.
ALTER is backed (and distributed) by Firebird Music Holdings, founded by Gibson guitars chairman Nat Zilkha and former Ticketmaster/Twitter exec Nathan Hubbard.
The promise:
The official statement says: "The label seeks to challenge accepted industry norms and 'alter' what no longer serves artists' needs."
It continues: "ALTER MUSIC is committed to creating powerful alliances with artists resulting in bold creative development, transparent revenue sharing, and story-driven marketing built around albums."
