Kelly Clarkson Sells Stake in Music Catalog

Grammy-winning vocalist Kelly Clarkson has sold a portion of her catalog to HarbourView Equity Partners.

The deal:

• The acquisition includes some of Clarkson’s biggest hits, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Because of You,” “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” and “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).”

• The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The main players:

• Clarkson found fame in 2002 as the inaugural winner of American Idol.

• She has released 10 studio albums.

• She also hosts her own daytime talk show and has been a judge on The Voice.

• HarbourView Equity Partners is led by CEO and Founder Sherrese Clarke.

• It manages the assets and royalty rights for artists such as T-Pain, Christine McVie and Wiz Khalifa.
