AI music generation platform Suno has launched v4.5+, which is currently live for paid subscribers.
New features:
V4.5+ offers an “add vocals” function that allows users to transform instrumentals into full songs “by layering vocals on top.” It also offers the ability to change individual words or complete lyrics.
The “add instrumentals” feature can use text prompts to add AI-generated backing tracks to already-recorded vocals.
The “inspire” update creates fresh music that mimics the “vibe” of songs featured in Suno playlists.
Other happenings:
These updates come as Suno battles a high-stakes copyright lawsuit.
They also follow its June launch of an updated editing interface, and acquisition of Digital Audio Workstation WavTool.
Suno recently appointed former WMG veteran Paul Sinclair as Chief Music Officer.
What they said:
Mikey Shulman, CEO & Co-Founder, Suno: “We’re not just giving users a better model that makes better music – we’re introducing new workflows that change how music gets made. This isn’t a minor upgrade; it’s a glimpse of the future: more people making more music, with better tools, in more intuitive ways.”
