Absolute Label Services has announced a new product called Anthology, an “AI-enhanced” solution for the independent label sector.
How it works:
As per Music Business Worldwide (MBW), Absolute claims Anthology’s software suite “consolidates” workflows for catalog management, global digital distribution, neighboring rights, content ID management, and real-time analytics from streaming, physical and direct-to-consumer sales.
Anthology seeks to provide independent entities with distribution, management and analytical infrastructure on par with the majors.
Meet ‘Ant’:
Key to Anthology’s service is the integration of an “AI-powered music industry executive” called Ant which, as per MBW, has been trained on “vast amounts of industry knowledge, data and expertise.”
Absolute refers to the AI-powered chatbot as “the music industry’s first comprehensive AI business partner.”
It will be available 24/7 to provide “strategic guidance, data insights, and operational support across users’ entire business.”
Actionable insights:
The Anthology portal delivers daily data from key streaming and social media platforms with “AI-powered” insights including playlist additions, streaming uplifts and more.
It offers tools to optimize pitches across streaming services.
Financial analytics and consolidated client royalty reporting are other services; so too is its promise of “granular control” over neighboring rights, content ID administration and direct CMO registrations.
What’s next:
The platform is being used in-house at Absolute and by its clients.
It will be made available to the wider industry as a standalone service later this year.
What they said:
Absolute Label Services Managing Director Simon Wills: “It’s no use asking company owners and entrepreneurs to remain independent simply because of some altruistic ideals. They need genuinely competitive alternatives that make independence strategically beneficial. Anthology offers that genuine alternative.”
He added: “We’ve built something that doesn’t just match the infrastructure of the majors – in many areas, it surpasses it. This platform ensures that independent music businesses can remain competitive without sacrificing their autonomy or creative vision.”
