
Universal Music Group (UMG) subsidiary Virgin Music Group has signed a global distribution and marketing deal with Sur Music World. Virgin will distribute Sur’s Bhojpuri and regional Indian music while also supporting audience engagement and digital marketing.

The company started out in film, but expanded to music in 2023.
Earlier this year, Virgin signed prominent Indian artists Rajesh Ahir and Sunanda Sharma, the latter of whom has over 3 million Spotify monthly listeners.

With this newfound support, Sur will expand into Hindi, Haryanvi, Punjabi, Marathi, and Magahi music.
