Tuned Global Introduces Real-Time Tipping to Social Radio Platform
The initiative allows fans to directly support artists, DJs and creators
B2B music and streaming technology provider Tuned Global has expanded its Social Radio offering, enabling fans to tip artists, DJs and creators who are curating a livestream.
The lowdown:
Social Radio is Tuned Global’s interactive fan-driven broadcasting layer for DSPs that lets artists, fans, and creators host their own shows inside music apps and interact with listeners in real time.
Listeners can join virtual rooms where artists or audio influencers go live, play tracks, talk to fans and get instant feedback from listeners.
From Q3 2025, fans will be able to tip their hosts directly.
Platform evolution:
The new plug-and-play monetization layer lets DSPs roll out direct rewards for anyone curating a livestream, saving hours in development time and significant cost.
In a statement, the platform claims the update was inspired by creator economy giants like Twitch and TikTok.
It also notes rising pressure on DSPs to deliver more participatory fan experiences, and that this evolution enables monetization, emotional engagement, and new fan data, all in one software development kit (SDK).
The backend:
Social Radio is powered by the 2023 acquisition of music AI pioneer Pacemaker.
The Social Radio SDK supports live voice overlays, AutomixIQ-powered transitions, audience interaction and real-time tipping.
DSPs can trial Social Radio without rebuilding their apps or compromising licensing models.
What they said:
Con Raso, Tuned Global’s Managing Director: “Social Radio turns static streams into the interactive experiences listeners now expect. Fans don’t just want to listen; they want to participate, support, and belong. Social Radio turns a traditional streaming experience into something social, expressive, and monetizable. The platforms that move first will define the standard for what streaming looks like in the fan-driven era.”
