The O2 Extends Naming Rights Deal Until 2038

Reported to be the UK’s largest-ever venue naming rights renewal deal

AEG has extended its naming rights partnership with telecoms group O2 for the London venue through to 2038.

Why it matters:

  • The naming rights agreement was first signed in 2005, two years before the AEG-owned and operated venue opened in 2007.

  • As per Access AAA, the multi-million pound extension of the partnership for the next 12 years is said to mark the UK’s largest-ever venue naming rights renewal deal.

What it means:

  • In addition to securing O2’s long-term presence at the venue, the extension delivers greater benefits for its customers.

  • The number of tickets available to shows at The O2 through Priority Tickets will be boosted by 50%, and for the first time, O2 and Virgin Media broadband customers will receive Priority access to shows at indigo at The O2.

Upcoming anniversary:

  • The O2’s 20th anniversary will take place in 2027, with special events set to include performances from Maisie Peters, Jorja Smith, and SOMBR.

What they said:

  • Paul Samuels, AEG Global Partnerships President: “Over the past two decades, The O2 has become one of the world’s most successful and recognizable entertainment venues, and this landmark agreement ensures we can continue investing in the venue, enhancing the fan experience and setting the standard for premium live entertainment for many years to come.”
