Taylor Swift has announced a new original song called “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which will feature in Toy Story 5.
The details:
The song is co-written and co-produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, with whom the singer last collaborated on 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department album.
According to Disney’s press release, it was inspired by cowgirl Jessie’s “ongoing journey” that began in Toy Story 2, and “marks a return to Taylor Swift’s country roots, blending styles that have defined her record-breaking career as a songwriter and artist.”
Fans can buy limited edition CD singles on Swift’s webstore up until Wednesday afternoon, with additional acoustic and piano versions available.
The song will be released on Friday June 5, with Toy Story 5 to follow on June 19.
What they said:
Taylor Swift, via social media: “I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story. I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages, and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”
