Suno Releases Updated Free Version of Its Music-Making Tool

The AI music creation platform promises a “transformative leap”

AI-powered music creation platform Suno has released v4.5 All, the latest update of its music-making tool for users of its free service.

Improvements:

  • As per Music Business Worldwide, v4.5 All is designed to be faster and “offers improved sound fidelity, smoother generation, and better performance across musical styles and vocals.”

  • It’s built on the 4.5+ premium version Suno released in July, which allowed users to layer vocals on top of instrumental tracks, and add AI-generated backing tracks to vocals.

  • 4.5+ has since been updated to v5 for paying users, with the company claiming it “composes like a musician, adapts like a collaborator, and creates like never before.”

Other updates:

  • Last month Suno released Suno Studio, which adds the multi-track editing functionality of a digital audio workstation to its generative AI tools.

Investment:

  • Bloomberg recently reported that Suno is in talks to raise $100 million at a valuation of more than $2 billion.

  • This despite it being the subject of numerous lawsuits, including one by the major labels alleging copyright infringement in the training of Suno’s AI models.
