StrmMusic Ups Its Advances for North American Creators
The music career accelerator is increasing funding up to four-fold
Music career accelerator StrmMusic has announced larger and more flexible advance offerings for North American artists, increasing its funding by two to four times.
Why it matters:
The company says this brings upfront funding support for independent artists closer to major-label levels, while allowing artists to retain full rights and creative control.
How it works:
Artists using the service can run a simulation to understand their advance prospects.
They can then access that money and use it to enhance a release plan, pay for marketing, new visuals, touring or a recording project.
StrmMusic’s advances feature an anticipated repayment period of up to 48 months, though contracts last only one year or until the advance is recouped.
Company stats:
StrmMusic says it leverages data, AI, financial support, distribution and label services to advance artists’ careers independently, sustainably, and without restrictive contracts.
It was founded in Brazil in 2020 and claims to have supported more than 60,000 artists and music professionals across more than 70 countries.
Last year it established its North American headquarters in Chicago.
What they said:
Geoff Cubbitt, CEO North America of StrmMusic: “We’re clearing away what can be the biggest bottleneck preventing an independent artist’s creative and professional growth: gathering enough resources at the right time to make a project stellar. Our new advance model clears that obstacle away and lets artists do exactly what they know they can and should do to further their vision in the studio, on the road, or online.”
