Spotify Expands Integration With Instagram
It simplifies the process of sharing music on the social platform
Spotify has rolled out two new Instagram integrations: audio previews in Stories, and real-time music sharing in Notes.
Sound on Stories – what it means:
When users share a track from Spotify, a short audio snippet will automatically be included, giving followers a taste of the song within their Stories.
By tapping on the music sticker it will open the track in Spotify to listen in full.
To learn more about the song, users can tap the song title at the top of the Story and select “View Song Details.” This will take them to the track’s audio page on Instagram, where they can explore reels using the audio and save tracks directly to their Spotify “Liked Songs” playlists.
Real-time song sharing with Notes – what it means:
By tapping the music symbol when writing an Instagram Note, users can sync their current Spotify track to the Note for friends to see.
Users can also share a specific song directly from Spotify to Instagram Notes by tapping the Share icon from Spotify’s Now Playing view and selecting the “Notes” option.
Rollout:
The features are available globally for Spotify and Instagram users on Android and iOS.
As Digital Music News notes, these new integrations deepen ties between Spotify and Instagram to better compete against TikTok in the age of digital music discovery.
