South Korean multinational conglomerate Samsung has responded to Dua Lipa’s $15 million lawsuit, in which she accused the company of using her image on its TV boxes without permission or compensation.
The response:
As per Digital Music News (DMN), Samsung claims it used the image in 2025 “to reflect the content of our third-party partners that is available on Samsung TVs.”
In addition, it says the image was initially provided by a “content partner for our free streaming service Samsung TV Plus.”
Samsung says it was assured by the partner that permission to use the image had been secured.
As a result, it told DMN, it denies “any allegations of intentional misuse.”
Adding that it has “great respect” for Lipa and all artists’ intellectual property, Samsung says it has “actively sought and remain open to a constructive resolution with Ms. Lipa’s team.”
