Proper Music Grows D2C Network Through Hospital and Heavenly Deals
Follows partnerships with Bella Union and Transgressive earlier in the year
The UK’s Proper Music Distribution is expanding its direct-to-consumer (D2C) business with new fulfillment partnerships with Hospital Records and Heavenly Recordings.
The deal:
As part of the arrangements, Proper will utilize its flexible IT infrastructure to facilitate Official Charts Company (OCC) eligibility for all physical music sales via Bandcamp.
It will be the first distributor to offer the capability at scale.
Proper will manage fulfillment of Hospital’s Bandcamp and own online store, supporting limited-edition merch drops and vinyl releases.
Proper will also handle global fulfillment (excluding the US) of Heavenly’s Bandcamp store across all physical music formats.
These new partnerships build on those with Bella Union and Transgressive earlier this year.
What they said:
Drew Hill, Managing Director at Proper Music Distribution: “We’re proud to welcome Heavenly and Hospital into the Proper family. Both labels are home to some of the best in independent music and it’s exciting to support their D2C setups to better connect artists with their fans. Made possible by our state-of-the-art IT systems, our ability to register Bandcamp sales with the OCC has become a key part of what we offer to independent labels looking to scale their D2C operations.”
