Étienne Daho
Warner Chappell Music (WCM), the publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has signed an administration and sub-publishing deal with SATORI SONG, the publishing company of French pop artist Étienne Daho.
The deal:
The agreement covers Daho’s entire 45-year discography, from 1981 debut Mythomane to his latest release, 2023’s Tirer la nuit sur les étoiles.
It encompasses more than 200 songs, including hits such as “Week-end à Rome,” “Épaule Tattoo,” and “Tombé pour la France.”
It also covers works Daho wrote and composed for artists such as Vanessa Paradis, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, Dani, and Marianne Faithfull.
The deal was orchestrated by WCM France’s President Matthieu Tessier and A&R Director Jérôme Brucker.
Why it matters:
WCM describes Daho as instrumental in shaping and redefining modern French music, establishing him as one of the key artists of his generation.
His influence extends beyond his own discography, with his aesthetic, songwriting and vision of pop music inspiring multiple generations of artists.
What they said:
Matthieu Tessier, President, Warner Chappell Music France: “Working alongside a great artist like Étienne Daho and helping champion his repertoire, both in France and internationally, is a great privilege for all of us at Warner Chappell Music. I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Étienne and his producer Laurent Manganas for their trust.”
