Merlin Appoints Dan Nevin Vice President, Industry Relations

Merlin has appointed Dan Nevin as Vice President, Industry Relations, as it seeks to strengthen its global industry engagement and expand its investment in the independent music community.

The role:

• Nevin will lead Merlin’s engagement with independent trade associations and strategic partners worldwide.

• He will also work closely with the Global Membership Development team to support membership growth and diversification, particularly across Asia, Africa, Oceania, and other emerging music markets.

• His remit also includes supporting targeted membership acquisition and engagement strategies, and developing initiatives that help emerging independent businesses build the capabilities needed to participate in Merlin’s global licensing network.

• He will report to Charlie Lexton, CEO of Merlin.

Backstory:

• Nevin has spent two decades working across the independent music sector, at one point serving as CEO of the Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR).

• Having moved to London in 2016, he has since worked with music companies, labels, and distributors as a consultant and advisor before joining Merlin.
