Key Production, the European physical music and packaging manufacturing agency, is bringing two physical formats to the European market: injection moulded records and Tiny Vinyl.
Green alternative:
Injection moulded records use PET (polyethylene terephthalate) instead of PVC.
The manufacturing process uses less energy and creates fewer CO2e emissions compared with traditional vinyl pressing, without sacrificing audio quality.
The format reflects Key Production’s commitment to sustainability as a certified B Corp.
Size matters:
Having launched in the US last year, Key Production is introducing Tiny Vinyl to the UK and European markets.
The four-inch vinyl records are collectables, and offer a new merch option that can sit alongside traditional vinyl releases.
The format has been utilized by artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Black Sabbath and James Bay.
What they said:
John Service, Director of Strategy and Sustainability at Key Production: “The physical music market continues to evolve, and artists and labels are looking for formats that are both innovative and more sustainable. Injection moulded records allow us to explore sustainable materials and production methods, while Tiny Vinyl introduces a fun, highly collectable format that creates new opportunities for artist merchandise and fan engagement.”
