Classic metal band Iron Maiden has sold off a significant portion of its IP to Pophouse Entertainment. The global entertainment company now owns a stake in Iron Maiden’s publishing and master music rights as well as its name, image, and likeness rights.
Background:
Andy Taylor, the band’s Co-Manager, has been overseeing the deal for the last year.
Pophouse and Iron Maiden have already presented one shared project: the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience at EddFest in Knebworth.
Pophouse produced the hugely successful ABBA Voyage show in London, which combines holograms of the Swedish legends with live performances of their classic songs such as “Dancing Queen” and “Mamma Mia.”
ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus founded Pophouse.
What’s next:
Pophouse is currently filming Iron Maiden’s Run For Your Lives world tour for an upcoming cinematic production.
The company is also planning more fan experiences and a digital universe around Iron Maiden’s iconic, hellish mascot, Eddie.
What they said:
Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos: “Iron Maiden is a band whose remarkable longevity and rich catalogue open up countless creative possibilities. With Pophouse’s partnership, the band now has the investment and creative firepower to keep evolving for decades to come.”
Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood: “I am very excited about our relationship with Pophouse and the ability we now have to pursue, facilitate, and finance our many plans and dreams quicker than we ever hoped.”
