
Firebird, the self-styled “next generation music company” that provides career and brand guidance to artists globally, has acquired a majority stake in UK-based artist management company Goodlife Management.
The deal:
Goodlife founders Oliver Sasse, Lucy Sasse, Ellie Shaw and David Watters, their teams and talent roster will join Firebird’s group of management companies.
In addition, Oliver Sasse will take on a Senior Adviser role at Firebird, with a remit to identify acquisition opportunities across the dance and electronic music space.
Goodlife’s roster includes Fred again.., The Blessed Madonna, Ki/Ki and ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, among others.
Alex Gibson, who co-manages Fred again.. with Oliver Sasse, is not part of Goodlife Management and therefore not included in the deal, though he will continue to co-manage the artist.
Other management companies in the Firebird stable include Mick Management (US/UK), Red Light Management (US/UK), JET Management (US), Hills Artists (US), and Special Projects (UK).
Why it matters:
As per Music Business Worldwide, Firebird says the new partnership “significantly bolsters” its presence in the electronic music landscape.
Goodlife’s roster will gain access to Firebird’s strategic infrastructure, including a digital audience team, label services operation, and finance team.
