BMG Acquires the Publishing Interests of Australian Band Jet

The outfit are best known for 2003 hit ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’

Having purchased Jet’s recordings catalog in 2023, BMG has now acquired publishing interests in the Australian band’s catalog.

The details:

  • The transaction covers the publishing interests of three of the four original Jet members, Nic Cester, Cam Muncey and Mark Wilson.

  • Financial details have not been disclosed.

Why it matters:

  • Jet are one of Australia’s most successful bands.

  • They’ve sold more than 6.5 million albums worldwide across their three full-length records.

  • The band’s biggest hit, “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” was featured in the 2004 Apple iPod advertisement.
