Apple Music Expands Its Transfer Tool Rollout
The feature allows users to import music from other streaming services
Having successfully beta launched its transfer tool in Australia and New Zealand in May, Apple Music has now rolled the feature out to additional countries.
The rollout:
Apple Music subscribers in Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, the US and the UK now have access to the transfer tool.
It allows users to migrate saved music, albums, and playlists from other streaming services into their Apple Music account.
Detailed instructions on the process are here.
Good timing:
The rollout coincides with Spotify preparing to raise subscription fees in certain territories, with Australia in line for a 15% price hike.
It also comes in the wake of artists leaving Spotify due to Daniel Ek’s venture capital fund Prima Materia investing in defense company Helsing.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Xiu Xiu, Deerhoof, Hotline TNT, and Australian musician David Bridie are the latest artists to have removed their music from the platform.
