Apple Music has announced a partnership with live music and event discovery platform Bandsintown which brings concert listings directly to the streaming platform.
Why it matters:
Apple Music is joining platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, Google and Bing in using Bandsintown as its preferred live music data provider.
It signals a significant expansion of concert discovery on Apple Music, and comes in the wake of competitor Spotify’s recent announcement that it’s powered more than $1.5 billion in ticket sales.
Bandsintown already powers live event data across Apple’s ecosystem of Shazam, Apple Maps, Spotlight Search, Apple Photos, and Apple Music Set Lists.
How it works:
With the release of iOS 26.4, acts who publish events through Bandsintown for Artists and connect their Apple Music profile will have their shows appear automatically on the platform.
They will be visible on artist pages, the Home tab, and in a new Concerts tab within Search, as per the streaming platform’s press release.
Fans can tap into listings to view event details, including venue information, set lists, and direct ticket links.
Apple Music will also notify users when artists they follow have upcoming shows nearby with push notifications.
