
Damai International, a subsidiary of tech and e-commerce giant Alibaba, has launched a record label and announced details of a talent search.
The specifics:
The label is called Original Creative Artists (ORCA).
Its first signings are Jam Republic member Audrey Lane and singer-songwriter DANY.
The label was announced on July 3 along with a worldwide talent search called All My Anecdotes Global Audition, launched in conjunction with South Korean agency All My Anecdotes.
The talent search will serve as a pipeline for the label’s future projects and runs until August 3.
It’s open to performers around the world, with no age, gender or nationality restrictions.
Expanding business:
Damai International, the international arm of Hong Kong-listed Damai Entertainment, already operates ticketing, event management, artist management, content production, and venue services, as per Music Business Worldwide.
