Ticketing Bots
Ticketing bots are automated software programs used to rapidly purchase large quantities of event tickets, often for popular concerts or shows, with the intent of reselling them at inflated prices on secondary markets. This practice, known as ticket scalping or touting, significantly impacts the music industry by limiting access for genuine fans and driving up ticket costs. The Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act of 2016 in the United States outlawed the use of such bots for ticket resale.
