Vinyl Orders Surge 50% In 2025
Vinyl manufacturer Key Production reveals a spike in demand
Key Production, Europe’s biggest physical music manufacturing agency, has revealed significant growth in the demand for vinyl.
Spin the black circle:
As per Music Week, Key Production reports its vinyl manufactured orders grew by 50% between January and May compared to the same period in 2024.
The physical music manufacturing agency has worked with artists such as Oasis, Nick Cave, Alt-J, Idles, Little Simz, PJ Harvey, Raye and more.
Generational interest:
Consumer research by Key Production suggests that while Generation Z (17-28 year olds) has played a key role in the resurgence of vinyl, Generation Alpha (1-16 year olds) is also embracing physical music product.
In January, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) reported a 17th consecutive rise in vinyl album sales (9.1%), countered by a slowing demand for CDs (-2.9%).
What they said:
Karen Emanuel, CEO of Key Production: “For many of these young listeners, physical music offers something digital formats can’t: a sense of authenticity, ownership, and emotional connection. It turns music into a tangible experience – something to hold, display, collect, and connect with on a deeper level. It is more than a passing trend; it reflects a deeper cultural shift.”
