Following the November announcement that TikTok had signed a deal with iHeartMedia in the US, TikTok Radio has officially made its debut on the iHeartRadio network, ending a near-five-year relationship with SiriusXM.
New home:
TikTok Radio launched on Friday March 13 on the free iHeartRadio app, and on 28 broadcasting stations across the country.
As per iHeart’s press release, it blends “TiKTok’s discovery engine and cultural impact with iHeart’s programming expertise and trusted personalities.”
Its regularly featured host line-up includes iHeart personalities such as Kayla Thomas, Ashlee Young, Jon Comouche, Becky Mits and Angelina Narvaez.
Signature segments:
TikTok Radio launches with five signature segments.
They include a weekly TikTok chart countdown; hourly “trending life hacks”; hot takes on lifestyle and culture; new music Fridays; and an “on the verge” segment highlighting up-and-coming artists.
Also launching:
iHeartMedia and TikTok have announced the first slate of shows on The TikTok Podcast Network.
They cover sports, fashion and culture.
Hosts include social media star Lele Pons, fashion editor Caroline Vazzana, Tim Martin, former College football player Clifford Taylor IV, and media personality and music executive Carter Gregory.
What they said:
Dan Page, Global Head of Media and Licensing Partnerships, TikTok: “We couldn’t be more excited to launch TikTok Radio and introduce our inaugural slate of hosts for the TikTok Podcast Network. At TikTok, empowering creators to turn their passions into lasting careers is core to everything we do, and this partnership unlocks powerful new opportunities for them to expand their voices across radio, podcasts and live moments, while connecting with fans in new ways.”
