The Orchard Acquires Brazilian Distributor and Record Label OniMusic

The Orchard, a Sony-owned music distributor, has purchased OniMusic, a Brazilian-based distributor specializing in Christian and gospel music. OniMusic also operates as a label and “digital intelligence” company.

The details:

• OniMusic has over 120 artists on its roster, including Gabriela Rocha, Ana Paula Valadão & Diante do Trono, Nívea Soares, Rodolfo Abrantes, and Isaías Saad.

• The company’s publishing division oversees the rights for more than 250,000 songs.

Background:

• OniMusic was founded in 2004 by Nelson and Christie Tristão in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, a city north of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
