Spotify Enables Users to Transfer Playlists from Other DSPs
The move comes months after Apple Music introduced a similar feature
Spotify has announced an integration with TuneMyMusic, a tool that enables users to transfer playlists from other streaming services into their Spotify libraries.
Why it matters:
Competitor Apple Music gave users the ability to transfer saved music and playlists from other services into their Apple Music library several months ago.
Amazon Music, YouTube Music and Deezer also have importing integrations with other services.
As Music Ally suggests, if subscriber growth slows in mature markets, poaching listeners from other services may become each DSP’s go-to strategy.
How it works:
The feature can be found in the “Your Library” section on the Spotify mobile app.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap “Import your music.”
Follow the prompts.
As per Digital Music News, TuneMyMusic transfers playlists from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud, Tidal, YouTube Music, and more.
