Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) recorded music and publishing arms achieved revenue growth of 8.8% YoY in Q2 (fiscal Q1 2025), generating $2.768 billion across the quarter. NB.   • Sony’s global recorded music operation generated $2.09 billion in calendar Q2, up 8.4% YoY on a USD basis.

  • Streaming (subscription and ad-funded) generated $1.36 billion, up 7.3% YoY.

  • Physical music sales were up 19.0% YoY to hit $180 million.

  • The ‘Other’ category – comprised of license revenue, merchandising and live performance income – generated $481 million, up 3.1% YoY.
