Sony Music Appoints Stephanie Yu as EVP, Business and Legal Affairs

Stephanie Yu has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and General Counsel at Sony Music. She will report to Rob Stringer, Chairman, Sony Music Group, and Kevin Kelleher, COO, Sony Music.

• Yu will oversee all business, legal, and governmental activities for the major label throughout the globe.

Background:

• Yu takes the position following the departure of Julie Swidler, who held the role for 18 years.

• Previously, Yu was Sony's Executive Vice President and US Lead of Business and Legal Affairs.

• She also worked in the legal department of Epic Records, and was involved in the wider Sony business via Sony Music Publishing, Sony Electronics, Sony Mobile and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
