Sony Music and Universal Music Group Partner Up to Produce Music Festivals in Asia

The co-venture is specifically between the major labels’ Japanese wings

Sony Music and Universal Music Group (UMG) have entered into a co-venture focused on launching music festivals in Asia. The title of the partnership is Nine By Nine, and it consists of the Japanese arms of both major labels.

  • The venture is aiming to launch its first festival in 2027.

  • Universal Music Japan’s Ichiro Tamaki will serve as President of Nine By Nine.
