Rod Wave Sued for $27 Million Over Canceled Tour Dates
The lawsuit claims the rapper/singer owes that money to the tour's promoter, Grizzly Touring
Rod Wave is being sued by Grizzly Touring, the promoter behind his canceled Last Lap Tour, for $27 million. The plaintiff claims Rod owes that much for “unearned and unrecouped advances.”
The lawsuit:
Grizzly offered Rod Wave, real name Rodarius Marcell Green, $40,250,000 for 35 shows. Half of the sum was paid in advance.
Grizzly claims further funds were advanced at a later date.
The complaint states that Green refused to reimburse Grizzly and spent the advance on luxury amenities such as houses and private jets.
Green canceled 13 dates of the tour in early 2025, citing production and routing issues. He launched his own touring company, Mainstay Touring, in response.
Grizzly claims that starting the new company violated exclusivity clauses in the contract.
What they said:
Grizzly Touring: “[Rod Wave] has only performed 26 shows since the Last Lap tour began in October 2024. That means [Rod] has only earned $29,900,000 against the guarantee, pursuant to its terms, and, as a result, now owes $27 million for the amounts Grizzly advanced and paid on [his] behalf.”
