Private equity firm Providence Equity Partners acquired concert logistics provider GCL for $1 billion.
Private equity firm Providence Equity Partners has acquired Global Critical Logistics (GCL), the company that provides logistics services to concert tours, sporting events, film and TV production and corporate events globally.
The details:
GCL operates brands such as Rock-It Cargo, DIETL and Cars, and has provided logistics support for Beyoncé, Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift's 'Eras' tour.
As per Pollstar, the Wall Street Journal reports the deal is worth $1 billion, with Providence becoming the majority shareholder and former owner ATL Partners retaining a minority stake.
As per GCL's website, the company handles more than 10,000 projects a year in 160 countries.
Rock-It Cargo recently entered a multi-year partnership as the Official Logistics Provider of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and the new FIFA Club World Cup.
