


New Poll Says Most Music Fans Prefer Not to Listen to AI-Generated Songs
The survey was conducted by The Hollywood Reporter and the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music
The Future of Music Poll has delivered its results on how listeners feel about AI-created music. According to the data, 52% of the total respondents have no interest in AI music, and 66% say they never listen to AI music.

The aversion to AI spans all ages.
Respondents are not interested even if the music is from their favorite artist.
Conversely, 32% of total respondents are interested in AI-generated music.
The sample consisted of 2,244 adults spanning four generations.
62% say creators using AI should get permission from the original artist if they are intentionally mimicking their voice.
75% of baby boomers, 63% of GenXers, 57% of millennials, and 52% of GenZers agree that AI should always be used alongside human contributions.
Gen-Z are the most amenable to AI, with 30% in that age group saying human contributions are not required to make music.
